I've thought about it all day. How a year ago, on August 13th, a baby came into our home and in five short days, changed our lives forever. I could write on and on about it, and pretty much did
here. Long story short, we took a child whose mother needed a few days to take care of some things in her life, into our home through
Safe Families. We were doing it to serve but, instead got served (as it tends to happen.) We had a taste of being a family of three and it changed our minds completely about having children. All our timing, planning, and fears went out the window. We decided that we needed one of those little things... right now... until we freaked out and changed our minds. By then it was too late (praise God!) Ava was on her way. Yep, that little Makayla sure did a number on us. And for that we are eternally grateful.
Everyone has a story. Our lives are stories. I love when our stories intertwine and interconnect in fascinating and life-changing ways. Ava, you will surely grow up hearing about "Baby Makayla" and how her story is the beginning of
your story.
